The Guernsey County Home was established in 1859 located south of Old Washington. In 1999 the name was changed to Countryview Assisted Living Center. The home is a 40 bed facility and offers home cooked meals, semi-private rooms, laundry and cleaning services, transportation to medical appointments, beauty salon, and many outside volunteer groups.

Patients are given assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Temporary care is also offered by day, week, or month. The residents get a lot of one-on-one care.

Rent is reisonable with a current tax levy in place. The staff are all trained, and the view of the rolling acres is very relaxing. Guernsey County Home Auxiliary was established in 1998 to assist the special needs of residents beyond what is provided. They have an annual auction to purchase larger items for the home and to help with Christmas.
